Description
What a fun way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and help your students develop critical thinking skills! This product has two puzzles - the same basic story line, but one logic puzzle is slightly more difficult than the other. Both critical thinking puzzles use basic math skills such as greater than, less than, addition and subtraction. Included in this packet are two versions of each puzzle - one with blank space for students to devise their own method for solving the puzzle - the other version uses a grid with the Leprechaun's names across rows and the number of coins lost as headers in a column.
The "Easel Activity" has been created for you - NO PREP - just assign. All of the answer boxes in the logic puzzle have been created for you and your students! If you find that your students would rather do the solving on paper but you are teaching remotely, have them solve the puzzles on their own scrap paper and then use the digital activity to turn in their answers. Easy-Peasey!
This product is now a part of a bundle here on TpT - the bundle contains two more puzzles that are a bit more complex, but still appropriate for middle school students, and having a couple of "harder" puzzles is a great way to give students choice and support students that love the challenge of a more complex problem. You can find the bundle here: St. Patrick's Day Logic Puzzle Bundle
Your students will love the challenge of determining how many pieces of gold each Leprechauns has - and you will love their engagement as they work through the clues!
