This two-page study sheet includes step by step instructions, paired with visual examples, as to how to multiply multi-digit numbers using the standard algorithm. A lot of the directions walk students through the “why” they are doing what they are doing, which is where many students struggle in the algorithm. The phrases on the sheet are phrases that are embedded throughout my lessons and my students are aware of their meaning and connection. I would absolutely consider this a fantastic resource for anyone looking to better solidify and understand the steps involved in using the standard algorithm to multiply.
