Description
This project was created so that each student would research a different state. Students will share their information by giving a short presentation to the class. Specific directions are given for labeling the salt map of their state. Students are provided with a list of "scavenger hunt questions" to research about their state. Students enjoy this activity because they get their hands dirty making their state with salt dough, labeling it with toothpicks, painting it (if you allow) and challenging themselves to a scavenger hunt. Once they have found all their information they are eager to tell their peers all about "their" state!

Planning to do this in May when the year is wrapping up to practice landforms.
Thanks!
My class loved it.
I plan to use this as part of a state project we are doing during PARCC testing as our schedule will be disrupted. I think the students will love using the salt dough!
This is always a good wrap up to maps, and states
Great Product!
