Description
Stay on Task Visual Support System
This Stay on Task Visual Support System is designed to help students improve focus, sustained engagement, and independent work stamina with clear, student-friendly visual expectations.
This resource reduces adult prompting by giving students a consistent visual reminder of what it means to stay on task during independent work, centers, or small-group instruction.
What’s Included:
- Stay on Task student visual checklist
- Desk-size version for lamination and daily use
- Multiple color options plus grayscale
- Teacher guide with implementation tips
How It Works:
- The teacher sets the task and selects a time-on-task goal (5, 10, or 15 minutes).
- Students reference the visual checklist during work time.
- At the end of the task, students reflect on their effort with a simple self-check.
This system encourages self-monitoring, builds independence, and supports executive functioning skills without relying on repeated verbal reminders.
Best For:
- Students with executive functioning needs
- Autism, ADHD, or learning differences
- Special education, intervention, or MTSS supports
- Independent work, centers, and small-group instruction
- Grades PK–3 (or older students needing EF support)
Important Notes:
- This resource is a visual support, not a behavior tracking or grading tool.
- No formal data collection is required.
- Visual supports remain available throughout the task to promote consistency and independence.
💡 Need support beyond staying focused?
This resource is included in a discounted Executive Functioning Visual Support Bundle that combines on-task engagement visuals with task initiation and completion supports to help students begin work, sustain attention, and complete tasks independently.
