I use this assessment to check students' math skills as it pertains to stocks and stock related math. I teach Gifted students in 4th and 5th grade but these math problems could be used WELL into middle school as well and still be challenging.

Problems include: Multiplying cost of shares x amount of shares, converting decimals to percentages to fractions, and calculating compound interest.
