I have used this in my classroom with fantastic results. The students gain independence in looking for the characters, setting, problem and solution in stories they read on a much more independent basis. The students love getting a chance to be the "teacher" during the Lesson Plan Activity.

My first grade newcomer ELL students have been able to use this resource with multiple stories. We use the main paper when practicing with new genres of stories, and then when it is time for me to see if they understand the 4 sections of the story map, they can do it.
