Description

This resource is part of my growing Story Problem Boot Camp series.

Included are 4 versions of a two-step story problem work mat.

1. This is a basic work mat for two-step story problems. There is a place to mark all the important information: story problem type, operation, equation, work, and final answer. All three story problem type graphic organizers are included at the bottom as a reference.

2. This is the same work mat with a blank space included at the top. This space can be used to type in a story problem above the graphic organizer.

3. This work mat adds the scaffolding of the Two Reads. During the first read, students identify the problem type and operation. (Still, avoid focusing on numbers when discussing this. Think more about if the number is getting bigger or getting smaller).

4. The final work mat is the same as the scaffolded version, but includes space above to type in a story problem.
