This lab set includes a teacher prep guide, pictures, answer keys and worksheets in PDF format. I wrote this for a high school earth science class. You can modify it as needed for your class.

The references in this were for the village of Hooper Bay, Alaska. You can modify this document for the relevant geography of your area.

My students absolutely loved playing in the sand and observing in real-time how rivers erode their banks. Living in rural Alaska, coastal and river erosion is very relevant to my students.

You will need a stream table, beach or other fine sand, and a source of warm water.

This was exactly what I was looking for to get my students a hands-on experience creating the Mississippi River and seeing erosion for themselves. I tweaked the lesson a bit to fit our purposes, but overall, it was great! Thanks for sharing!
