Description
Arrays can be tough to teach. I found a way to get kids interested by having them create different designs using their own name - or anyone else's! This package is perfect if you need to get kids to explore one-dimensional string arrays. There are 30 different designs all arranged in order of difficulty.
Each student receives their own two-page plan - carefully selected by the teacher based on their knowledge of their ability (differentiated instruction). PowerPoints have been provided to demonstrate how to plan a full program. Plan and code exemplars as well as 30 coding solutions have also been included.
Once their plan has been signed on both sides they may then code the program. They must test and debug their own program and complete the program documentation as outlined in “Programming Style” before submitting their project.
✸ Some school boards may call a coding project an exit ticket or culminating activity. ✸
