Description
This is the start of a multi-discipline curriculum on Artificial Intelligence Literacy. The aim of this curriculum is to supplement your already-existing curriculum on poetry with a lesson that incorporates poetry with an activity and discussion on artificial intelligence.
The goal of discussing AI in the classroom is ultimately to help students understand how AI operates, what they can gain from it, and what is lost with it. This lesson is paired with a lesson on the history of haikus so students can learn about the history of haikus in a low-stakes setting where they are asked to provide reactions to early haikus and asked to provide reactions in a similar style to computer-generated haikus.
The four documents in the English Lesson series are this homework sheet, the slideshow lesson, the teacher's guide, and the students' follow-along worksheet. The slideshow can be used independently or in tandem with the other resources.
