Subitizing

Spring Subitizing

Subitizing is the ability to “see” small groups of objects without actually counting them. They should be able to quickly glance at the image and know how many objects are there.

This file is meant to be used in slide show mode and projected for students to see. There is a black slide before and after each image so that when you show the image you can quickly skip to the next slide to hide the image while the students are determining how many images they saw.

The slides are currently in order from 1 image up to 10 images for each object (dots, raindrops, butterflies, bunny peeps, and flowers). You can reorder the slides if you would like the images in a different order. Simply drag the images in the slide viewer on the side of the screen to the position that you would like them.

The images are in basic subitizing arrangements.

For each object there are approximately:
Dots-20 Images
Raindrop-20 Images
Flowers-20 images
Butterflies-20 images
Bunny Peeps-20 images

If you don’t have a projector you can print out the images and simply flash them for your students to see.

I used some of these cards for a task I was creating. Not sure how or why you would need them all for anything...
