Description

Subject and Predicate: Literacy Center Task Cards - If you are trying to see if your students understand the basics of being able to recognize the difference between complete subjects, simple subjects, complete predicates, or simple predicates, then these task cards are perfect for you.

This activity is great to use as a literacy center during reader's workshop (I try to do a grammar/writing skill during this time), or maybe you are just looking for a fun way to get a grade. Students can complete this individually or work with a partner. Feel free to use it in your class as you see fit.

The set comes with 16 sentence task cards that have a part of the sentence underlined. Students will complete the skill sheet by identifying what part of the sentence is underlined. An answer key is also included. If you use it as a center and place all of the items in a file folder, use the colorful cover sheet for the cover of your activity folder.

Have fun!

I used this as intervention for academically high students who showed to have a gap in domain specific words and phrases. Students were engaged and showed mastery after practicing with this resource.
