Description
Cookie Subtraction by The Teaching Fox
This is an engaging activity for students to practice subtraction facts to 10 WITH manipulatives! This activity will allow students to move pieces to represent subtraction facts and help you check for understanding.
The file contains 11 sheets of subtraction facts, as well as one blank sheet for students to write their own equations. Students place one equation at a time on their work mat. They will then follow the steps (with arrows) to solve the subtraction problem, using the cookies and the ten frame. As they take cookies away they can place them into the cookie jar. I've included printable cookie jars. You can choose to just cut the sheet in half and use it flat as a mat, or glue it to a brown paper bag to make a cookie jar. I laminated mine so that students can write their answers with dry erase markers.
This file contains:
11 sheets of subtraction facts to 10
1 sheet of blank rectangles for students to write their own equations
2 cookie jars
1 color work mat
1 sheet of cookie manipulatives
