Description

This activity includes 4 different centers that can be used combined or separate for easy differentiation based on the needs of your students.

Center sets include:

Set One: Chocolate ice cream cards for numbers 1-5.

Set Two: Vanilla ice cream cards for numbers 6-10.

Set Three: Strawberry ice cream cards for numbers 11-15.

Set Four: Mint ice cream cards for numbers 16-20.

Each center has four equations per number and four recording sheet options.

Students will need to solve the equations on the ice cream top cards and match them to the correct difference (answer) on ice cream cone cards.

Recording sheet sets include:

Set One/Version One: Trace the equation above the correct difference.

Set One/Version Two: Write the equation above the correct difference.

Set Two/Version One: Solve the equation given by tracing the correct difference.

Set Two/Version Two: Solve the equation given by writing the correct difference.

Ice cream top and cone cards can be laminated for repeated use and durability.

Set Two recording sheets can be used independently if desired.

Black and white options included for all recording sheets and ice cream center cards.

Center Directions: Students will match the ice cream tops to the ice cream cones by solving the equations shown. After sorting all the ice cream cards, students can complete the recording sheets included.

To differentiate, allow students to use manipulatives or draw on the laminated ice cream top cards with dry erase marker to help solve each equation. If not laminated, students can also draw pictures using paper and pencil.

Recording Sheet Directions Set One: After completing the center, students will record their sort answers on their recording sheet by either tracing or writing each equation inside the ice cream tops above the correct ice cream cone numbers.

Recording Sheet Directions Set Two: After completing the center, students will record their sort answers on their recording sheet by either tracing or writing the answer to each equation.
