Data Tracking Sheets?
* I found many of my students, even in 5th grade, were having a hard time making the inverse operation connection between addition and subtraction.
* I began each year, and with each new group of tutoring students, using ThatQuiz for basic facts practice. This program is free and allows data-driven remediation resources to be put in place based on student need.
* The Subtraction Practice Tests literally take 2 or 4 minutes- the timer from ThatQuiz is built into each ThatQuiz url I created and linked for my Subtraction Fluency and Accuracy Data Tracking Sheets.
* I used basic fact practice on ThatQuiz as a daily part of my 90-minute Math block of instruction as a center activity- small groups of students had rotating 5-minute turns using a Chromebook or desktop computer to complete. Yes! Literally 5 minutes. The timer using ThatQuiz is built in.
* Once students achieved 100% Mastery for subtraction fact fluency and accuracy with ThatQuiz, I used these data tracking sheets 3x per week to progress-monitor basic fact fluency and accuracy retention. My experience has been that when students don’t continue to practice basic facts, they get rusty. I used these Fact Fluency and Accuracy Data Tracking Sheets throughout the entire school year to help students retain basic facts.
It was motivating and empowering for students to define and set basic fact fluency and accuracy goals and have a visually concrete way to manage them.
This classroom and tutoring-tested product file includes:
Two (2) different Subtraction Fluency Data Tracking Sheet pdf files to give students a visual and concrete way to self-monitor subtraction fact fluency and accuracy growth and progress over time; one data tracking sheet for a 6-second response threshold and one data tracking sheet for a 3-second response threshold.
The process to download, print, or make a copy of my product files does NOT need to give TPT access to your Google Drive.
