Description

Subtraction story problems are very important for students to know how to solve. These 20 story problems contain real life examples of numbers that students may encounter. No one is purchasing 50 watermelons here! The problems presented use 3- and 4-digit numbers for subtraction, with and without regrouping.

Task cards can be used for any number of activities. My students use them for math centers, but they can be used for games such as Scoot!, for math intervention activities, or for scavenger hunts by placing the questions around the classroom. The use of the cards is limited only by your creativity.

An answer key and student activity sheet have been provided if you choose to use these cards for a formative or summative assessment.

This activity is also available in the Subtraction Activities Bundle. Buy three activities and save some money!
