The scaffolded notes provide room for students to interpret the word problem, create a sketch of the action in the word problem, write an equation and solve. By asking "what do I know?" and "What am I trying to figure out?" the packet guides students through the entire process from reading the word problem, interpreting it and finally computing and solving.
It can be used as whole class, small group or even an assessment or for homework.
