Happy Easter! Are you working on subtraction within 100 with your class? Here is a fun activity you could do with your 2nd, and/or 3rd grade math students to make such equations fun. Whether you want to use it to practice fluency in math centers, prepare for a test, or just use it for homework, the fun is still the same.

DICE AND GAME PIECES NOT INCLUDED
For game pieces, you could use bingo chips, buttons, counters, or whatever materials like those that you have in your classroom.
This is how you play:
1.Roll the dice.
2.Move the number of spaces shown on the dice.
3.In your notebook, solve the problem on the space you land on.
4.If your answer is an even number (a number that ends in 0, 2,4,6, or 8), cover an egg that says ”even” with a game piece. If your answer is an odd number (a number that ends in 1,3,5,7, or 9), then cover an egg that says “odd” with a game piece.
5.Once your egg is covered, then the next player rolls.
6.If all the even eggs are covered and you get an even number as an answer, then your turn ends, and the next player begins to roll.
7. If all the odd eggs are covered and you get an odd number as an answer, then your turn ends, and the next player begins to roll.
8.The game does NOT end if you complete one trip around the board. The game ends once all the eggs are covered.
9.Whoever covers the most eggs, wins the game.
10.Have fun!
