Description
Use this PowerPoint to help review math facts, +0, +1, and doubles. The class can read the equation together and when you say "equals" they shout out the answer.
The first slide has the children brainstorm different strategies to solve addition problems such as fingers, number lines, and introduces SUPER HERO POWERS , or mental math, as a new strategy.
As a bonus, I tell them that at the end if they can say all of their math facts, they earn a super hero cape. (3 sheets of paper towel rolls hanging out of their shirt.) They love it! I wear one in the beginning because I told them that I practice my Super Hero strategy everyday so I am really fast at solving these problems.
