Students have a blast using probability simulation to model the impending Zombie Apocalypse! Use an online dice roller to simulate the likelihood of survival from week to week, losing students at every turn. Eventually the zombie hoard will come for you - how long will your students survive??
This project uses simulated data to allow students a fun way to construct exponential decay models. Students will need to have already learned how to build simple exponential equations (y=a*b^x). This project will push them to demonstrate their understanding of decay rates (particularly with %'s).
*This project is written with the TI-Nspire graphing software in mind. This project can be done with any tool or software that uses spreadsheets and scatter plots, and statistical calculation such as exponential regression, but may need to be modified to fit the directions specific to the tool your students use.
