Description
Syllable Segmentation
This packet is full of graphic organizers, posters, printables, and activities to help elementary students understand syllable segmentation. This packet contains resources for grades 1-3 and for all levels of learners. Variations of activities are included for in-class differentiation as well.
The main focus of this packet is the "syllable scramble" interactive activity, which is great for centers, one-on-one instruction, and small groups. There are pages of words already segmented into syllables ranging from 2-5 syllables per word. Simply print these sheets and cut the words into syllables. Students will then figure out the different words they can create with these syllables and record them on the included "word log." There are different variations of this activity included as well. With so many words and syllables, this game can continue all year long!
The rules for syllable segmentation are also included on a color and black and white poster/printable. There are graphic organizers for identifying words for each syllable rule as well as a fully filled out chart with examples.
Both students and teachers are sure to love the contents of this engaging and educational packet. Watch your students take on syllable segmentation with ease!
