Are you looking for a fun way for your students to practice reading words with the six different types of syllables? These syllable speed drills are an engaging and motivating way to help your students review the syllable types. This product contains one-minute speed drills for each of the syllable types. There are one syllable and two syllable speed drills for open, closed, silent-e, vowel team, and r-controlled syllables. There is a two syllable speed drill for the consonant + -le syllable type. Students have three attempts to see how many words they can read correctly in one minute. The goal is to try and beat their own score. This could be a teacher guided activity, used in a literacy center, or as partner work.
