If your students are anything like mine, they struggle when it comes to re-phrasing text evidence into their own words. I created this activity as a mini-lesson to help my students practice taking text evidence and excerpts from an academic text and synthesizing it. In this product is a notebook guide to review with students prior to the lesson, 10 task cards for students to practice, and a paired recording sheet.
