Sythesis Independent Reading Project (AP)
Share

Description

This is a great project for AP Language. Students are able to choose their own nonfiction novel of choice, from an approved list which I have included in the plan, and create a synthesis prompt. The prompt the students create will look EXACTLY like the one on the AP Exam. This means they are required to have sources! All of the specific guidelines are included.

This is a 6 week out of class assignment, with specific "check" points to make sure students are on task. This is a GREAT assignment, and the students love having the freedom to choose their own pieces to explore.

On the day students turn in their projects, I collect them and redistribute them to another student. They then write an in-class essay on which ever student-created synthesis prompt they receive.

It's a lot of fun!
