"My students were fully engaged while completing this in groups. There was so much discussion and they checked their own work before turning it in. As they were checking, they were really proud of their work. I will use this yearly. :)"

Description

Set of 48 total task cards / matching cards. These cards have been designed to be used to review a unit on calculating x- and y-intercepts and using them to graph linear equations.

This allows students to calculate the x- and y-intercepts when given an equation in standard form. Then students will match them to a graph. Another option is to have students match the graph of the line directly from the equation in standard form.

This file includes:

* 16 cards with an equation in standard form

* 16 cards with the x- and y-intercepts

* 16 cards with the graph of the linear equation

* Answer sheet

* Solutions

This was a 2 day activity for my students and really solidified the concept of identifying intercepts through different representations. Some student's were a bit confused with the amount of cards to choose from so putting the cards into colored groups for students to have fewer of each types of cards to look at at one time might be a helpful scaffold for some! My high flyer students completed this activity very quickly.
