A structured executive functioning activity that teaches students how to turn overwhelming tasks into clear, manageable steps.

In this Task Breakdown Lab, students practice breaking large, complex tasks into smaller, actionable steps using real-world scenarios. By organizing tasks into a logical sequence, identifying required materials, and estimating time, students develop the planning and organization skills needed to complete work more independently.

This activity helps students move from feeling stuck or overwhelmed to having a clear, step-by-step plan they can follow.

Students Will:

  • Break large tasks into 4–6 clear, actionable steps
  • Organize steps in a logical sequence
  • Identify materials needed for each step
  • Estimate time required for completion
  • Develop planning and organization skills
  • Reduce overwhelm when approaching complex tasks
