Description
Included in this set are 32 cards containing trinomials missing the value on the end, which students must complete the square to find. Use these cards to get your students to fluently find the missing value before you solve quadratics by completing the square. You can also use these to practice factoring perfect square trinomials. Having your students be able to quickly complete the square and factor will make solving that much easier!
This corresponds to (Texas) Algebra 1 TEKs:
-A.8A: solve quadratic equations by completing the square (Readiness Standard) (students are not solving here, just practicing the skills needed to solve)
-A.10E: factoring perfect square trinomials (Readiness Standard)
Trinomials are printed on the front, and the missing value AND factored form are printed on the back. You may choose how far you want your students to go with the activity. For example, you could just have them find c for the first round, then have them factor the second (or days later!). Its up to you!
Task cards are a great way to get your kiddos up and moving around! You can also use them for early finishers, or to differentiate for your students. You can copy them with or without the answers on the back. Its all up to you!
