Description
This set of 24 task cards can be used to help your students reinforce and extend their proportional thinking development. Each card has one task on it to help keep students motivated and help you to differentiate instruction. In this set, the even numbered problems are generally more challenging than the odd numbered cards. All task cards in this set are open response. The answer key is given in two formats: 1) in task card form with the answer in red; and 2) as an answer key on the student answer sheet. Printing and laminating the task cards will help to keep your copy costs down. If you want students to self-check their work, I suggest you laminate the answer cards, cut them out, and use a ring to hold the set together. Recipe boxes are another great way to keep your task cards together.
Task cards can be used with individual students, in pairs or small groups, or with the whole class. I hope you enjoy this set of task cards for years to come.

Looking forward to using this resource.
I hope you enjoy the task cards Jeana!
Love these cards, though many of the problems can be solved much simpler without using a proportion which seemed to confused some of the students.
I'm so glad you love the task cards! I agree that there are many ways to solve proportion problems and find that our unit on proportional thinking is a great time to discuss multiple problem solving strategies along with some of the mathematical practices with my kids. Student teams can investigate if their "rule" works all the time and report back.
This worked well as a review & practice for my students. Thanks
I'm so glad to hear it! Thank you.
Great Station Activity
Thank you for the feedback!
thanks!
You're welcome.

Standards

CCSS7.RP.A.1
Compute unit rates associated with ratios of fractions, including ratios of lengths, areas and other quantities measured in like or different units. For example, if a person walks 1/2 mile in each 1/4 hour, compute the unit rate as the complex fraction ½/¼ miles per hour, equivalently 2 miles per hour.
CCSS7.RP.A.2
Recognize and represent proportional relationships between quantities.
CCSS7.RP.A.2a
Decide whether two quantities are in a proportional relationship, e.g., by testing for equivalent ratios in a table or graphing on a coordinate plane and observing whether the graph is a straight line through the origin.
