Teaching Lip Closure (Spoon Unit) | Distance Learning
Share

Description

These worksheets are valuable tools for helping children with inadequate lip closure, and specifically address:

  • eating,
  • drinking,
  • swallowing,
  • drooling,
  • producing bilabial sounds (m, p, and b)

The goal of this unit is to help teachers, therapists, and parents teach lip closure using a tool they already have… a spoon!

Students can enjoy these activities by using an ink dauber, a sticker, a crayon, a magnetic chip, some playdough, or a dry/erase marker to fill-in a circle for each success! When practicing with older kids, you can point to a circle to administer these exercises more quickly. There are only 3 repetitions for each exercise, making it easy to incorporate into your session!

If you enjoy these worksheets, be sure to check-out the “Teaching Lip Closure with Speech & Feeding Therapy” growing bundle. It will include additional exercises, speech sheets, feeding therapy vocabulary sheets, play activities, certificates, and MORE!
