Ten Frame Multiplication Slides
Share

Description

BUNDLE AVAILABLE!

Helping students understand and retain multiplication facts is a huge skill! Often times, we teach students what multiplication is, and then have them start memorizing the facts. These slides are meant to help bridge the introduction to multiplication and memorizing the facts.

These slides are meant to help students start visualizing the multiplication facts to help them solve them. By using ten frames, students are able to see the facts in different ways. For 7 x 4, many students will see four fives, and four twos. Four fives 20. Four twos is 8. So 7 x 4 is 28. When we provide this visual, it will allow students to see the problems when they are solving them.

I also have a dots and circles version available... buy the bundle to save money if you want both versions!

I used this with my summer school students. They had fun with it. My only concern (and may be at my own fault) is they already knew what was coming next since the slides are in order. I need to spend more time researching how to best utilize them in my upcoming classroom. A resource I will definitely use!
