Essential Question: How do you test a solution to a problem?
Learning Goal: Students will be able to discuss how developing a solution is an iterative process and requires testing, revising and retesting so to optimize the solution to a problem. Students will be able to reflect on the importance of failure point testing so to ensure a solution solves a problem in different conditions.

This resource introduces essential science and engineering practices to students in elementary school. These practices are essential to the three-dimensional design and implementation of Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). NGSS guides a robust science education that introduces higher-order thinking skills to learners in the very first years of their education. Introducing these skills in primary grades is necessary to develop young students into strong, proficient and competent scientific thinkers and problem-solvers.

MOTIVATION
The First Look with Junior Scientist Jack Elkowitz Series is inspired by my son Jack and his desire to learn how to learn about the universe. The series was created after homeschooling him during the Coronavirus pandemic.
