Description

“Text Features” for K – 2nd grade is designed to supplement your lesson on text features. It includes alignment to the VDOE English SOL 2017 for K.9a-c, 1.10d-e and 2.8a-c for the learners to read and demonstrate comprehension of a variety of nonfiction texts by identifying text features. Included in this package are colorful, visually stimulating text feature posters in 8 ½” x 11” or half-size for the title of book, table of contents, indices, images, bold type, maps, labels, charts, headings, glossary, italics/underlined, and captions. There are 19 printable activities to extend the lesson being taught. Some worksheets will work well for assessments. Most are in color. There are three sets (8 cards each) of color-coded task cards for grades kindergarten to 2nd grade. They can be copied with or without the self-checking feature. Finally, there are three fun Text Features Rap songs to sing with your kids as a anticipatory set or closure for your lesson in grades K – 3rd.
