In addition, there are now 9 activities that are sure to have your kids thinking!

**Text Features Bookmarks and Bookmark Pointers. The pointers are arrows labeled with various features. Students use them to "point out" features found. Quick assessment for you!

**Text Features Bingo includes a game board, 28 game cards with the names of the features, and directions for five variations of the bingo game.

**Text Features Treasure Hunt has a pirate theme. Students are asked to search for text features in nonfiction books, color a gem when they find one, and include the page number it was found on.

**Text Features Detective is a prereading activity. Students search for clues in their own “just right” non-fiction text or text book. Using those clues, predict what they are going to read about and learn.

**I Have/Who Has is a fast paced game where students have to use their listening skills and recall definitions of the various text features. There are enough cards for 25 students to play.

**Non-Fiction Text Features Graphic Organizer is for students to use with their own “just right” books or with a text book.

*I have included a foldable that students can use to define the text features or draw a picture/example of what has been learned.

**As a culminating activity, I have provided a piece about Abraham Lincoln. Students are asked to read it and choose the text features that would enhance the readers understanding. They should display their work on a large sheet of construction paper. GREAT for a collaborative group activity!
