Description

This lesson plan is a low prep, fully written, researched-based text structure lesson. As adults, 80% of what we are reading is non-fiction. Students are being tested using non-fiction texts, but our student's comprehension of non-fiction texts is failing.

To increase our student's comprehension we must be teaching them how to read and interact with non-fiction text. Teaching children how to read non-fiction starts with teaching text structure.

This product includes:

- Lesson Plan instructions

- Lesson Plan- made to be a cheat sheet while teaching

- 2 graphic organizers with "I can" statements listed

- A place to take notes and write objectives specific to your state
