Text Structure Notebook Pages:

These notebook pages help you and your students learn about Text Structure using ANY nonfiction book! Yes, ANY! That means you can use your District Reader, individual books, or small group books to learn about Text Structure! Students will get a notebook page for each structure included. (...) Also, students will also get a set of open ended questions for each type of structure of text! This means they will critically examine the text structure to PROVE that it is thee type they think it is!

Nonfiction Text Feature Exit Slips

These Exit Slips or Formative Assessments will help you gain insight into what they students in your classroom truly understand about Text Features. Students need to truly understand the purpose of what the Text Feature really does. These slips will provide that understanding. This includes exit slips for titles, subtitles, headings, subheadings, bold faced words, glossary, tables, charts, graphs, diagrams, illustrations, captions, maps, and text boxes

Text Feature and Text Structure Poster Report

This project can be used across the school year as students grow in their understanding of Text Features and Text Structures. Students will prepare a nonfiction poster, written in specific Text Structures (choice or assigned), draw and add Text Features to prove their knowledge of all of these skills. Then they must label these with the included labels! Two levels of projects are available for use with ANY BOOK! Easy to use because there are teacher tools to track project work and a TWO different rubrics to score it all! Students LOVE this project and you will too!
