Description
Thanksgiving Activities that help you save money! This Thanksgiving coding bundle that is perfect for elementary ages! It's jam packed with a range of coding activities to meet all sorts of coding abilities - primarily focused on the unplugged coding sector.
This series focuses on introducing coding to students who may not have been exposed to it, or for those not wanting to go straight into computer programs.
Students will be able to:
- Students will be able to solve a problem using simple, well defined directional steps.
- Students can test their steps to see if they work.
- Students can identify and missing or incorrect steps.
- Students can correct (debug) wrong steps.
- Students understand that the steps they give need to be precise.
- Students understand that the tasks can be broken down into smaller steps.
Linking to the NZ Digital Curriculum:
This project links to a wide range of curriculums, but as we are based in NZ we can specifically identify how it links
We’ve designed these projects to cover a large portion of the Digital Curriculum. Specifically looking at Progress Outcome 1 of Computational Thinking. Students will be given opportunities to look at what an algorithm is, and how to use it to find the most efficient way of doing something. They will be able to test their algorithm and correct where they have gone wrong. This brings in the concept of debugging.
This project is the perfect way to introduce coding before exposing children to a programmable environment.
