Description

Do you want to introduce your students to coding, but they aren’t quite ready for Coding Unplugged? Try this intro to coding using Thanksgiving Follow the Code!

A digital version of this resource is also included and is compatible with Google Classroom for distance learning.

This resource includes:

• Teacher Instructions

• Coding Maps (THREE Levels of Difficulty)

• Coding Worksheets

• Code with a Partner

• Answer Key

The Coding Maps come in color and black & white. Use color to laminate and use again and again. Use black and white for students to take with them to practice!

Coding Worksheets:

• Map A: 1 worksheet

• Map B: 2 worksheets

• Map C: 3 worksheets

Code with a Partner:

Pair up students to practice coding together! One student writes a code and the other student follows it to find an image.

This product is part of my Follow the Code (Coding Unplugged) – All Year Bundle where you can purchase the entire year of Follow the Code resources at a discount!

Follow the Code is a great start to coding and can be used individually, in pairs, or as a center!

After students have mastered Follow the Code, they are ready to move on to Coding Unplugged.

This provided me with the ability to not only teach coding but also some social studies! I previously used the Halloween version of this, but due to skills I needed to teach earlier in the year I was unable to use the Halloween version at the time as the students were not ready. This was a perfect segway into our coding unit!
