Description

When November rolls around, it can be tough to keep kiddos on track! After the rush of Halloween, I love games with themes to keep students interested and engaged while reinforcing their math skills. This money-saving bundle will help reduce your time planning and preparing for centers and small groups. I've put together 3 math games that your second grade learners can play multiple times independently in November or fall in general.

Gobble the Corn!, Where’s the Turkey?, and Thanksgiving Arrays KABOOM! have multiple uses:

  • small groups
  • centers
  • tutoring
  • Thanksgiving/Harvest party
  • fast finishers
  • send home to play with family

The games are all easy to prep! Choose color or b/w, laminate the components (or slip it into a plastic sleeve) for durability, model how to play, and you’re all set. You'll need a cup or can for the KABOOM! game and dice, wipe-off markers, and tokens to mark players' places on the game boards.

You will get in color and b/w:

  • game boards
  • 54 Thanksgiving Arrays KABOOM! game cards
  • Thanksgiving Arrays student response sheet
  • Thanksgiving Arrays answer key
  • notes and tips for the teacher or parent

Used together, these 3 resources address:

2.OA.B.2: Fluently add and subtract within 20 using mental strategies. By the end of grade 2, know from memory all sums of two one-digit numbers.

2.OA.C.4: Use addition to find the total number of objects arranged in rectangular arrays with up to 5 rows and up to 5 columns; write an equation to express the total as a sum of equal addends.
