Description
These Thanksgiving Story Problems were a hit in my mathematics classroom. Each silly prompt will require students to think critically about the details provided and make decisions on what data is needed and what mathematically needs to be done to solve the problem.
These story problems are a great way to keep the fun in Thanksgiving but still promote critical thinking. All items are fully editable!
This item is included in the Math Story Problems Bundle for Middle School. If you purchased the bundle, you will not need to purchase this item.
Here are some sample problems:
1. Danielle loves cranberry sauce, so she decided to buy every container of it at the store the night before Thanksgiving. She was able to buy 15 cans at the sale price of $1.65 each. How much did she spend?
2. Abe, Benjamin, Cat, Dan, Ethan, Frank, and George went turkey hunting the week before Thanksgiving. Each one of them except George shot three turkeys. How many turkeys were shot?
3. If a turkey can run at the rate of 4 miles per hour, how many miles can he run in 24 hours?
