The children can illustrate the steps, write them, or both. When they are finished, each of their steps can be made into a mini book that is sure to be a hit at the family Thanksgiving celebration.
My perfect pie
Children can use their imaginations to create their perfect pie flavor. After the children have designed their pie, they can practice descriptive words to describe their pie.
The parts of a pie
This activity includes a completed diagram and a blank diagram. Students can look at the completed diagram and fill in the blanks on the empty diagram. This will help children to practice following spatial cues and writing vocabulary words.
Class pie book
Use these half sheet prompts to create a class book about your students’ favorite kinds of pie.

Thanksgiving Alphabet Book: This book is a great way to celebrate Thanksgiving while encouraging literacy. Each letter corresponds with a autumn-themed vocabulary word which will help children practice letter sounds. Print one for each child, or a few for a center. You could also have children create their own Thanksgiving themed alphabet to go along with each of the letters.

Thanksgiving Match, Sort, and Count: This set of Thanksgiving themed number cards can be used a variety of ways. Each card has a different Thanksgiving-related picture, the set also includes the corresponding quantity of each of those images. Cut out all of the pieces and students can sort the images, count how many of each image there are, and then match the pictures with the correct card. The different opportunities for learning that this set provides means that all students can be successful while participating in this activity. These activities reinforce math concepts while encourage number recognition and the understanding that numerals relate to quantities.

Thanksgiving Letter Match: This activity is perfect for practicing upper and lowercase letter recognition and letter sounds. Each Pie has a capital letter and the whipped cream has a corresponding lowercase letter. Children can match these, and make the letter sounds as they work.

Thanksgiving Vocabulary Cards and Spelling Practice: Use these vocabulary cards to introduce your students to new words. These are perfect for writing centers and activities. This set has 14 vocabulary cards and 14 spelling cards. It includes the words turkey (2 versions), cranberry sauce, carrots, rolls, mashed potatoes, pie, pumpkin pie, gravy, cornucopia, wheat, Pilgrims, and Native Americans.
