Description
If your little learners like working at the pocket chart, you're always looking for new activities to use! Spice it up for Thanksgiving with this set of 19 high frequency word cards and 3 punctuation cards for building sentences. What a fun way to practice sight words and develop sentence sense!
Thirteen sentence model cards give suggestions for sentences that students can make and check themselves. They can then use the included easy-to-make pointers to "point and read", strengthening early reading strategies of one-to-one matching, directionality, fluency and self-monitoring with known words.
The color coded cards in this resource will help your students develop good habits in sentence writing. First words in this set are green and ending punctuation cards are red.
A student response sheet is also included.
This resource is a sample from Thanksgiving Literacy, a set of 12 literacy activities designed to reinforce Thanksgiving concepts and vocabulary while practicing early literacy skills. Click here to see it!
