Description
It is a fearful time for children and adults alike: this is two lessons to use either with digital online learning or in class and promotes a culture free from fear building on what students know about the Coronavirus (Covid 19), to learning about the virus using a video link and discussion questions, a quiz and discussion questions, activities such as creating Flipgrid videos to teach others as your students become empowered as Coronavirus experts, asking questions, responding to questions: all within the frame of "knowledge is power" and all with the intent of becoming experts themselves, learning facts, not opinions, and sharing these facts in an infographic as the final activity. Please note that you will need to create a Flipgrip account (very easy platform to use and I have included the link to my "grid" for use as an example) and post a prompt for your students. Of course, children, too, will need access to a computer, tablet, or phone to create their own video and watch those of their peers; in addition, students will also need to sign up to create an infographic using the platform easel.ly. Please please take note of this as this lesson plan works for both distance learning as so many of our schools close and for in class as well. Please stay safe, Rockermom
