This was a perfect unit to use with my Nature and Conservation classes! The video was a great way to introduce the concept of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and the packet engaged my students in using a variety of skills and interacting with the material in numerous ways. I used this lesson as a precursor to a research project about current efforts to address this problem. Some of my students struggled with creating the graphs but with a bit of guidance they figured it out okay. I think they mostly appreciated the change of pace that this resource provided from what they had been doing in our class.
