Description
This fractions on a number line activity is perfect for math centers, warm-up tasks, math talk prompts, or SCOOT. Classroom teachers and homeschooling families alike could enjoy this activity. Students practice placing points on the number lines to show fractions - halves, thirds, fourths, fifths, sixths, eighths, tenths, and twelfths included. Most cards include number lines that are already divided, with 0 and 1 labeled, while a couple of cards require students to plot the point to an undivided number line. Two bonus questions included to prompt students to compare fractions using reasoning and the number lines to communicate and justify their answer.
Includes all 19 questions as full page and quarter page formats. A number line is shown with each question - perfect for laminating and allowing students to use dry erase markers right on the card, but the recording sheet also has a number line for each question, if you'd rather collect students' answers for assessment.
This product is ready to go, but be prepared for the oohs and ahhs and plenty of puppy stories that are sure to come with this activity!
