Description

The Library Fish is a sweet library adventure. Mr. Hughes the librarian finds a fish on the front steps of the library. He brings her into the library and aptly names her Library Fish. Library Fish makes friends in the library and on the bookmobile, checks that books are returned, and absolutely loves story time. One day everything outside is covered in snow and not a single person comes into the library to visit. Library Fish is so eager to read a book that she escapes her tank, finds her favorite stories and reads them aloud all night to Bookmobile.

☑️ Book Bite Lesson Objective ☑️

Students will listen to The Library Fish, make personal connections to their own library experiences and favorite stories. They will also be able to define important library vocabulary. You may also use this book to introduce the concept of genres.

A Book Bite is genuinely NOT meant to take the place of a whole book unit! It is NOT all-encompassing. It’s just a bite! Each Book Bite features one reading strategy and focuses on a single component, yet that one concept is differentiated among different printables. Perfect for students in grades K through 3!
