Description

The 'Relationship Between Addition and Subtraction' pack is designed to help Year 2 students understand the relationship between addition and subtraction facts. Subtraction is the opposite of addition. If 2 + 3 = 5 then 5 – 3 = 2 and 5 – 2 = 3.

The pack includes:

•A poster showing how addition and subtraction are related

•2 x picture based worksheets based on the poster

•a numeral based worksheet on addition and subtraction facts

•10 x Fact Family Triangle worksheets using addition and subtraction.

These activities meet the Australian Curriculum Mathematics Statements ( Numbers and Algebra) for Year 2 level:

•Explore the connection between addition and subtraction (ACMNA029)
