Squirrel and Bird are back from their adventures in the Leaf Thief, but this time it is winter. Squirrel experiences the wonder of cold, white snow for the first time. He has a snowball fight, explores ice and runs into a snow squirrel who has a face made of hazelnuts. As Squirrel ponders his missing hazelnuts and the mysterious snow squirrel he met, he gets more and more excited to play in the snow.When he wakes up and the snow is gone, he tells Bird all about the snow thief.
