• Vocabulary words – total of 80 (8 per section) with others added to list for discussion

• 3 Quizzes (Sept-Nov/Dec-Feb/Mar-May) include some of the vocabulary from the chapters (2 pages for the quizzes including vocabulary, multiple choice questions and 2-3 short answer questions)

• Writing/Creativity Skills: one page per chapter for writing and/or creativity

• Reading Skills: cause and effect, character analysis, character traits, comprehension, figurative language includes 2 pages for the first half of the book and 2 for second half and two extras including a spotting similes page and a figures of speech page, inferences, journal/writing prompts for every chapter, main idea, outlining, problem/solution, quotes, sequence, setting, story plot, summary & response, theme.

• Language Arts Skills: one page per chapter includes capitalization and punctuation, Latin/Greek roots, analogies, synonyms, alliteration, titles of works, connotations/denotations

• 10 Writing activities for the end of the book

• Extras: a word work page, a Color-by-Character picture

• 2 Research pages for researching topics related to the book

• Answer keys for entire unit

• Common Core standards page included in packet for 4th-7th grades.

• 20 Quote Posters

The digital version includes all of the PDF pages as Google Slides for student use and Google Forms for self-grading on the quizzes and book test (except for short/extended response questions).
