Description

Introduce theme by using this Theme Mini Lesson. This mini lesson takes students step by step on how to create a thematic sentence. As an example students will create a thematic statement on the movie Shrek. This resource was designed to connect to Common Core Standard RL 8.2 but can easily be applied to other grade levels. After teaching this mini lesson, my students completed The Theme in Me activity that is also located in my TpT store.
