Thinking - Learning chart

Description

Teaching today is concerned with monitoring children and their learning. This is a tool I developed to keep track of the children learning their goals. I ask the children to write their learning goal along the top. Then they read (on a separate paper) their daily learning objectives and vocabulary for the unit. On the left side, they are to brainstorm what they already know about the unit. After collecting, I can read through to see where they are, monitor their background knowledge and find misconceptions. Then after the unit is over, I have them reflect on the right side what they have learned, the goals reached and any corrections they need to make from their original brainstorming.
